personnel VW: Dirk Große-Loheide new Chief Procurement Officer
Stefan Sommer is able to focus fully again on his work as Group Board Member for the Components and Procurement division: Volkswagen has found a new member of the Board of Management with responsibility for Procurement.
Dirk Große-Loheide is the new member of the Board of Management of the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand with responsibility for Procurement. He has been Head of Group Procurement Operations since April 2019. The 55-year-old takes up his new position with effect from 1 October 2019. Große-Loheide succeeds Stefan Sommer in his new function. He had previously led the brand division in personal union to his function as Group Board Member for the Components and Procurement division. With the appointment of Große-Loheide, Sommer will be able to concentrate fully on his extensive tasks as Group Executive Board member.
About Dirk Große-Loheide
Dirk Große-Loheide is a graduated economist and banker and has worked for the Volkswagen Group since 28 years. After joining Volkswagen in Wolfsburg in 1990, he began his career in machine procurement. From 1995 onwards, he held positions of responsibility first in general purchasing at Seat in Martorell and from 2000 at the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles brand in Hanover, where he was appointed Board Member for Procurement and Production in 2007. In 2011, Große-Loheide was appointed Board Member for Procurement at Volkswagen de Mexico in Puebla. From 2014 he was responsible for the procurement of the Group's services and equipment, from 2017 he was Executive Board Member for Procurement at MAN Truck&Bus and finally from April 2019 "Head of Group Procurement Operations".
