Rohde & Schwarz is collaborating with Vector. The companies want to develop a test platform for Cellular V2X.

Rohde & Schwarz has announced a collaboration with Vector. The companies will work together on a test environment for the application layer C-V2X (Cellular Vehicle-to-everything). The companies' integrated test platform will be presented at the Mobile World Congress (25 to 28 February) in Barcelona. According to Rohde & Schwarz, it combines the R&S CMW500 network simulator and the R&S SMBV100A/B GNSS simulator, which work together with Vector's CANoe.Car2x software.

More security through data communication

With the trend to equip vehicles with 3GPP Release 14 C-V2X ECUs, peer-to-peer data transfer in ad hoc networks between vehicles will be realized. All vehicles will share location, speed and routes so that warnings of road hazards can be exchanged between drivers. The applications will cover applications such as communication between vehicles, data exchange with the road infrastructure and interaction with unprotected road users such as pedestrians. Data communication is implemented in the 5.8 GHz and 5.9 GHz frequency bands of the Intelligent Transport System.

Rohde & Schwarz and Vector have announced the demonstration of a solution for configuring and executing traffic scenarios for testing the physical layer 3GPP Rel. 14 up to the application layer of C-V2X ECUs in a laboratory environment.
