Sigmatek has expanded its S-Dias portfolio with the high-precision BC 031 gyroscope sensor module. The module provides rotation rate and linear acceleration information in three axes each, allowing position and tilt to be accurately determined at any time.

The compact solution is based on a MEMS sensor and is intended to provide accurate rotation rate measurement. The resolution of the acceleration is 0.061 mg/LSB, that of the rotation rate 4.375 mdps/LSB. According to the manufacturer, the robust module delivers reliable measurement results even in harsh environments - with strong shocks and vibrations. The high-resolution sensor module has a microcontroller for filtering the raw data. In addition, an Ethernet and RS485 interface are integrated for reading in laser sensors from Sick, for example.

Application of the gyroscope sensor module

The sensor module is used in applications where precise measurement of acceleration or rotary motion is required. The product is therefore particularly suitable for driverless transport vehicles (AGVs), logistics, lifting platforms, industrial robots, and many other applications.
