SHARED MOBILITY Carsharing and ridesharing - important players in Europe
A number of automaker OEMs have invested in carsharing, ridesharing, or both in recent years. This part of the article series details such companies in Europe; the second part will look at companies in the United States, Japan, and China.
There are plenty of companies in Europe, committing in carsharing and ridesharing. This article focuses on Volkswagen, Daimler, BMW, Audi, Renault, Groupe PSA, and Fiat Chrysler.
Volkswagen
Volkswagen is currently at the beginning of a massive push into electrification. By 2025, VW hopes to have at least 50 models of EVs for sale — accounting for at least one-fifth of its total production in Europe.
